Musical Settings for New Hymn Texts

For the convenience of the music ministers who receive preview copies of my new hymn texts, I post audio files (MIDI and MP3) for the musical settings.

These are instrumental playbacks, with full accompaniments unless noted otherwise. Click to hear a single verse, plus the refrain if there is one. Right-click to download and save. Please let me know if you come across any malfunctioning links.

Clicking on the song title will open the song’s MIDI files. The MIDIs generally are smaller to download. The sound quality may vary.

The song titles are the titles of my hymn texts, which are my own copyrighted material. Please read the copyright information at the bottom of this page before downloading PDF files.

The music (not the lyrics) provided below is in the public domain. The tune names (in CAPS) and composers are noted. The tunes may have been altered to suit my lyrics.

Please note that the content on this page is subject to change. Songs are moved from this page to the appropriate book’s audio page after they’ve been published.

Lord, Hit Me with a Two-by-Four (SWEET HOUR; Bradbury)

Ninety-Nine Lost Little Lambs (99 Bottles; Traditional American camp song)

See How Far I Have Fallen -gen. (ES IST EIN ROS; Praetorius)

Shall We Gather in the Kitchen (HANSON PLACE; Lowry)

Sick at Heart (CRANHAM; Holst)

Until It Happened to Me (SURRENDER; Weeden)
